WHY I CRY

I don't cry over losses.
I cry when reminded of love.
That it exists. That it's mine, in my heart.

I don't cry over things I've never had.
I cry for what I have right now.
In my hand. Here, in front of me.

My tears resist death and dying.
They just won't show themselves.
For Injustice. Or personal wrong.

But they flow uncontrollably
At a soft loving touch.
Whispered sounds.
I'm here. No need to worry.

I don't cry at goodbyes.
But I weep for hellos.
Even when no word is spoken.
